HELP the JAPAN RELIEF FUND on SATURDAY, APRIL 2

On Saturday, April 2, our sushi vendor, AFC Sushi, will be donating 10% of all sushi sales to help those in Japan who have been devastated by the recent earthquake and tsunami. We are partnering with them and matching their 10%. Therefore, a full 20% of all sushi sales at our sushi bar will go towards this effort. We will be forwarding the proceeds to the Japan Relief Fund.
100% of all donations contributed to the Japan Relief Fund go directly to experienced, non-governmental relief agencies in Japan that have experience in humanitarian relief as well as in aiding in the restoration and development of destroyed areas.
We hope that you can help out this worthy cause. Stop in on Saturday and buy some sushi! If you are having a party or a catering event on Saturday, be sure to order a tray or two of sushi and help this worthy cause.
This week, look for another Wisconsin grown product in our produce aisle – Kitchen Kleen Potatoes! Based out of Rice Lake, Nuto Farms, has been growing these potaotes for over 80 years. The Midwest Food Alliance has certified these potatoes “environmentally grown” so when you buy them, you know you are getting a product grown using sustainable farming methods.

What a great weekend for the Badgers!

First of all, I would like to give a big shout out to the great weekend the UW Athletic Department had this weekend! Congratulations to the UW Women’s Hockey team on their fourth NCAA championship in six years, to the UW Men’s Basketball team for reaching the Sweet 16, and the UW Wrestlers and Swimmers who brought home individual and team honors in their respective NCAA events! It was a great weekend to be a Badger fan!
If you’re going to be watching the basketball tournament this weekend with friends, why not try out some new sushi trays from our sushi bar!? The sushi chefs have created some new, tasty dishes like the four different Chef’s Sampler trays, Sushi Caprese, the Dynamite Summer Roll and more. Prices range from $4.99-$12.99.
Don’t forget to stop by the deli and order some party trays for your party! Our trays can accommodate a small or large party. Pick up drinks from our wine and beer department. You’ll get 10% off your wine purchase when you buy 6 or more bottles of wine!
The Wisconsin Film Festival begins next Wednesday, March 30. If you haven’t done so already, order your tickets online or at the Festival Box Office inside the Memorial Union. Tickets are $8 for general admission and $5 with your student ID. We are proud to be part of such a great event! It’s like having Sundance in our backyard!
The cheese tastings are back! Look for cheese samples by our deli counter every Monday night from 4-7p. We’ll be sampling great cheeses and pairing them with a perfect complement of beer or wine. This Monday, we will be sampling Montchevre Goat Cheeses from Belmont, WI.

Our First Anniversary Sale was a great success! Our iPad giveaway promotion ended yesterday and we drew our three winners today.
