Cooking Classes/Tastings Schedule

We are excited to announce a series of special cooking events in our store! Enroll today in any or all of the events and enjoy special dishes from our in-house chef, Andy Nighbor , that will truly tempt your taste buds!  Some classes will be set up as a learning experience while other classes are purely for your enjoyment and entertainment.

These events will be held in our second floor event room and are available to a limited number of participants for a nominal fee.  We require a 72 hour advance cancellation notice of any class that you are signed up for.

Interested in learning about how to brew your own beer?  Goose Island will be hosting a seminar about the Brewing Process & Beer Styles.  Learn the basics of brewing, including the fundamentals of brewing and the ingredients used.  Plus, enjoy samples of various types of beer to truly understand the difference between a Pale Ale and  a Pilsner.  Fresh Madison’s Chef Andy will provide dinner.


Beer Appreciation ($15.00)
Friday, February 7 (6:00-8:00 p)

This is the second class in the Good Island Beer Education Series. This class is an introduction to the techniques used in properly tasting and critically evaluating beer. Sample pours of 5-7 beers will be provided. Dinner will be provided by Fresh Madison Market’s Chef Andy.


Belgian Style Ales
Thursday, April 11 (6:00-8:00 p)

This is the third class in the Good Island Beer Education Series. This class is a comprehensive look at what makes beer a Belgian or Belgian style ale, complete with a brief history and samples of both historic examples and modern versions of the style. Samples of both Goose Island beers and their European peers will be provided. Dinner will be provided by Fresh Madison Market’s Chef Andy.
