We have expanded our PARKING time limit from 30 minutes to 60 minutes with a $25.00 purchase in our parking garage! This came from numerous customers saying they feel rushed with the 30 minute time limit. I hope this helps your shopping experience with us. Enter our parking garage on Lake Street, follow the signs to Fresh Madison Market and an elevator will bring you directly into the store. Remember to bring your voucher with you so we can validate it.

You’ll find an EXPANDED SELECTION of speciality and natural products. We have added new products per customer requests like items from Hebrew National and Palermo’s Pizza. Our selections are constantly evolving so be sure to check in often…you never know what you will find!

We are now accepting the RED CARD! If you are not familiar with the Red Card, please check their website, www.redcardmealplan.com. The Red Card is a debit card that can be used at various businesses around the downtown area and we proud to be a part of this great program!

You can find Chef Greg in our kitchen not only making great items for the deli and bakery but also teaching! We are now offering COOKING CLASSES every Thursday from 6:30- 8p. Classes are $25. Chef Greg has also been busy preparing for many special events around the downtown area and he is anxious to go to work for your upcoming business meeting, party, or special event! We have a full “EVENTS MENU” available on our website or at the deli counter. Choose party trays off the menu or create your own! We’ll be happy to accommodate whatever you prefer!

One of our biggest accomplishments this summer has been working with the Allied Drive neighborhood to offer healthy food alternatives to the people who live there. We are sponsoring a bus to and from the store to this neighborhood twice a week. Our goal for this is simply to give residents access to healthy food choices. Since Cub Foods left this area in 2008, a grocery store has been lacking in this neighborhood. We want the residents to be able to go to a grocery store rather than rely on fast food options. The bus has been extremely successful and we are glad that the people are taking advantage of this program.

Some awesome items soon to appear in the deli island are live soft shell crabs. (Learn how to clean soft shell crabs!)

In the restaurant world, chefs look forward to this special time of year around late spring when soft shells bust into the market. Generally, they are available only with large amounts of lead time and pre-ordering. We will have them available as long as we can get them.

Copper River salmon season was recently open for a very short 12 hours, making them a little harder to get, but we expect to have them available by the end of this week.

Cheese Chatter

When I was on the west coast, something my friends and I enjoyed was the abundant events of wine and cheese tasting. So I decided to take advantage of the Friday night scene at Fresh Madison Market and do one of my own. It is free of charge; just walk in and come find me this Friday, May 21st, between 5:30pm and 6:30pm, by my cheese case and deli. Please remember that if you are going to sample wines I need to check your ID. I have a wheel of Comte Gruyere, a wheel of Rogue River Bleu, and a crate of Barber’s 1833 Vintage Cheddar that I have been dying to tear into—and I think this Friday night is the night. Try the Gruyere with some sexy bright white wines, and maybe even a Port or bossy Malbec with the Bleu and Cheddar.

Online shopping is so easy…just go to our “Online Shopping” tab, set up an account and start shopping! You’ll find the same products that are in our store, at the same low prices! After you place your order and pay online, we will deliver your groceries within two hours after we receive your order. You can do your shopping online up to 7 days in advance of when you want your groceries delivered.

In addition to online shopping, we are also offering our exclusive Shop N Stop feature! You order your groceries online and rather than having us deliver your order to your home, you just call us five minutes before you arrive at our store, pull up to our entrance on Lake Street, and one of our store employees will bring out your order and load them into your car!

For the redesign and redevelopment of www.freshmadisonmarket.com, we will be creating a Web site that will remain familiar to their customers but will allow greater flexibility and functionality. The goal of the new Web site is to enhance usability and interactivity while supporting the future growth of the market and its online presence. In addition to the design, we will deploy an open source Content Management System (CMS) that will provide Fresh Madison Market with 24/7 access to automatically update content so the site remains as new and “fresh” as it proudly boasts about its products.

I am very happy to see so many people going after the fresh grilled panini sandwiches. Some of our favorites are Ham & Muenster, Turkey and Cheddar, and the Reuben. We will be adding some new ones and trying some new recipes like Pizza Panini, BBQ Chicken Panini, Chicken Caesar Panini, and a Blue Cheese & Scallion Roast Beef Panini. Feel free to offer suggestions or comments about which ones rock, and which ones need work.
