It’s pretty impressive to see how something so small can make such a big difference. For this, you can thank Ruth Graves Wakefield of the Toll House Inn in Massachusetts. She simply took a semi-sweet Nestle chocolate bar and cut it up in chunks and gave the world the chocolate chip cookie. To say they were a big hit is an understatement. It took just two short years to go from a delicious treat to striking a deal with Nestle. She gave them her chocolate chip cookie recipe, and Nestle paid her in chocolate…for the rest of her life!
