Christmas Cookie Ornaments

November 26, 2018

Right behind the lights and garland, Christmas cookie ornaments give your tree an extra homemade look.  This simple recipe can be put together easily, and give the kids a fun project while they’re out of school.  Let’s get started!

Here’s all you’ll need:

4 cups of flour

1 cup of salt

1 ½ cups of water

Combine them all together and knead for 10 minutes.  Roll the dough out on the counter, lightly floured so it doesn’t stick.  Start cutting into shapes, and poke a hole in the top (a straw is the perfect size).

Heat the oven to 300 degrees, and bake for 30 minutes.

After they have cooled, you can decorate with poster paints.  Give it a spray with clear polyurethane on both sides, then tie yarn or ribbon through the hole and hang on the tree!
